About Us

Washington Elementary School was built in 1959. We house close to 600 students in grades kindergarten through fifth. We are situated in a quiet, historic neighborhood. Our students are taught by a highly qualified staff of teachers, most of whom are master teachers.

Our data driven program is state accredited and is tightly aligned with the state of Michigan core curricular content standards. Educational experiences are broad and suit the needs of our diverse population. Students with Limited English Proficiency and Migrant Education Program participants will be involved in regular education classes with comprehensive support. We offer a variety of assistance supported by Title I funds. Class-size reduction teachers co-teach in kindergarten, first and third grades.

Washington Elementary is closely partnered with local universities and businesses where we share in the expertise of college students and prominent citizens from our area. We enjoy one of the most active, loyal parent groups anywhere!
